And boy do I ever mean it! I think last night was the beginning of many such nights to come. I wish I had photos and video clips to help describe what it was like. Between the next door neighbors, Skyler and Cylas there were eight children here. Some were on the sun porch playing with the keyboard jumping up and down and dancing like silly little chickens. Others were in the front room trying to tag each other with the volleyball and playing another game reminiscent to soccer. It was so loud! But, it was nice. One of the neighbor boy’s has a knack for music and was trying to pick out the song “At the cross”, sung by Hillsong, on David’s guitar. Everyone was busy with something. And then today was a repeat of last night only everyone left before 11pm and this time there were ten children! They were in basement playing checkers, on the sun porch watching the lightening and in the front room/Cy’s room playing with cars and other toys.
It has taken these three months but, now the older children are starting to feel more comfortable around David and I. I think we’re a bit more strict than they’re used to but, it’s all for a good cause. They seem to enjoy us. Soon we’re going to have another camp fire and I’ll be sure to post some pics. I didn’t post pics of our last camp fire but, it was a lot of fun. We roasted marshmellows and made S’mores! There were graham crackers and mellows everywhere! We sang around the campfire and told jokes and stories. I do have photos of the boy who plays the guitar and sings. His name is Luke and he’s a eleven. Cylas just loves him. I’ll try to post those in the next couple of days…
