Of Food and Love: new york city visiting grandpa visiting great grandfather

It’s big, and you can taste so many different flavors in only one bite. It smells like construction, like smog and an array of ethnic foods. It sounds like a million voices each singing a different song, car horns and money changing hands. And better still it feels like you’ve travel across the world and landed in a hundred different countries at once. Mmm, it’s the Big Apple and that’s where we went last weekend. It was great. We went to the zoo, Cylas’ first time, and went to dinner that evening. The next day David, Cylas and I went to visit my dad while he was working, saw my grandpa and then went shopping. I know, I know, shopping is SO predictable in NYC, but it’s impossible NOT to shop! At the zoo Cylas was able to get into the pen with some of the goats and alpacas. He was having such a great time. (notice how much alike his hair looks with the alpaca’s??) The fish tanks were awesome, but a couple of them were REALLY scary looking. For instance, the puffer fish was like some type of alien demon staring at us through huge bubble eyes. As you can see in the photo, Cylas didn’t think that fish was too cool. But, there were other less ugly fish that caught his attention. He was like a rocket. It was hard to keep up with him. He ran from room to room trying to look at everything and touch everything. By the end of the trip, he was pooped and fell asleep five minutes into our ride home.
What a little munchkin…
