  • It’s been a long day’s night….but, we have a baby!

Who knew that my day would start at 4:30 in the morning, due to incessant worrying about my unborn child, and end with a baby in my tired arms. No one knew, I suppose. But that’s what happened and it couldn’t have come at a better time. As most of you know, I was a week over due and really worried. I had almost convinced myself that my contractions were broken…heh. But, they starting working at 1:30 the afternoon of the 26th and I was admitted to the hospital here in Lewisburg. as you can see from the photos I tried to keep the mood light. But, I was going into this whole thing without medications to aid with the pain and I was a little nervous. David snapped a couple of pictures while I was having a contraction…little stinker. But, the whole night was an amazing experience. Unbelievably, I managed to deliver our little girl without a hitch. As I wasn’t drugged, it seemed like my contractions took forever. I would find myself looking at the clock trying to guess when I would have her. It took almost 12 hours and she arrived. After 10 minutes of convincing her that coming out into our world was much better than staying in the womb she finally gave in and screamed in agreement. I was so happy to hear that little cry, because it meant that my job was done and I would finally get to see who had been hiding in my womb for nine months, kicking me in the ribs, giving me indigestion and making my clothing too tight. Thanksgiving morning starting with me giving thanks to the Lord for giving me a healthy, beautiful little girl. At 7lbs 6.5oz, 19.5 inches long and a wild banshee scream Romalise made her debut.
When Cylas was finally able to meet his little sister, he did the most surprising thing. He ran up to her bassinet and said “Womah!” and kissed her on the forehead! I had my doubts that he would know who she was and would possibly have a bad reaction to another little person taking his mommy’s attention. But, he surprised us all with instant recognition and love. About an hour after she was born, my dad came to visit and I hardly remember a thing. I was so tired. Good thing I have photos to help me remember!! I’d like to thank my midwife, Mary DeWire, for having faith in me that I could do it all on my own…and my husband because he kept me going even though I wanted to give up. Thank God she’s here!

She is so beautiful!! You look gorgeous, your in laws so happy, your mom divine, and David so proud! We can’t wait to meet her in March!!
    Love you

David and Misha – Congrads!! now you are truly parents! i realized that those with one child are not really parents…it takes that second one to really mess things up and change all the questions you had answers to from the first child! Enjoy! the first year is the hardest…after that, they become best buds and a joy to watch play together!

Congrats, Misha! You’re an amazing trooper! Love you tons, and am very very happy for you!!!! (yes, but difference from having Cylas, huh?! LOL)

Misha and David~ Congratulations!! What a wonderful Thanksgiving surprise! Or was it planned?? What a beautiful family! God Bless!

Little Romalise is beautiful! Congratulations on a job well done. I am sure Cylas is a great big brother. Enjoy a great holiday season!!
