  • The change

It happens every year. Right around September I start feeling giddy. Fall! It has to be my favorite season. It serves its purpose in so many different ways. From being a colorful and warm backdrop for my photos to the chill that settles at day’s end making the perfect evenings for soups and stews. Fall is so relaxing. In contrast, summer is full of non-stop fun, vacations and adventures. But fall is a special time of year for me. It holds many memories from my childhood. Growing up we used to pile leaves and jump in. It was fun but not as cushy as we had hoped. So, we improvised and went inside to form a mound from all of our stuffed animals and rolled off our bunk beds into the pile of dolls, bears and blankets. And during the fall we would visit Apple Hill. Oh, how we loved Apple Hill! School trips and family trips took us there and every time we were wowed by all the apple treats and drinks.
One of the funnest parts of fall is the wind. I can’t remember how many times we purchased kites. only to have it fall apart within the first fifteen minutes of flight. Poor Barbie, My Little Pony and The Little Mermaid. It was all for a good cause. I still smile thinking about how much fun it was to see that piece of triangulated plastic flapping madly in the wind before its fateful dive into the tree. Memories.
Well, this year is going to be different. We’re in PA now and I have to find an Apple Hill for Cylas and Romalise. We’re thinking of doing the corn maze this year and I’m still hunting for a good pumpkin patch to visit. Roma will be too young to remember but this is the perfect time to start creating sweet, delicious, happy memories for Cylas. He is three and FULL of it. Brace yourselves, folks. PHOTO-rama about to begin in the next couple of weeks.

    Aw so sweet Misha,
Yes! I love memories they are the best and oh how fun apple hill is!!
PA looks so lush and beautiful :)
    Love you!

How big Cylas is now! I remember my cute little buddy coming into the North Sac library, and he is still cute–with a little sister to boot. John and I are married now and expecting our own little one in January. We both have our own blogs for work (gegthoughts.blogspot.com for me and anecdotaltotal.blogspot.com for John). Glad to see all is well with you and the family.
