Uhg.  But we made it!  We’re here and the hotel is WAY more than I bargained for.  Brand new.  Jan 11th, 2010 grand opening.  We got to our room and it smelled so clean, fresh and crisp.  LOVE it.  We even have a little fridge.  I just finished putting our laundry in the on site laundry facilities which is right across the hall from the indoor pool and workout room.  Seriously.  I don’t think I’ve ever slept in a nicer hotel in my life!  The kicker is — I only paid $50 a night.  The rooms here run for $109.  Never felt happier about spending $50.

The kids are having a lot of fun and have been troopers the whole way.

This trip has really brought a lot of happy, happy, joy, joy feelings to the surface.  It’s great.  I can’t wait until the babies are older and can appreciate everything on a deeper level.  I’ve only ever dreamed of these types of trips.  And now that it’s happening, it’s even better than I had imagined.  I enjoy the little pit stops because David’s Cy’s bladder is about to pop.  And a pit stop so all the little legs in the back seat can get a chance to stretch and run around.

The only thing that I DON’T like about traveling like this, is the food.  I really miss making a good dinner for my family or at least eating a healthy meal.  Where can you buy a meal that will cover all the vitamins that you need without losing an arm and a leg at the register?  I’m on the hunt to find a place that will give us the veggies, protein and fiber needed to maintain a relatively healthy diet.   I always carry fruit, Nutra-grain bars, juice and water.  I pack tuna sandwiches, or peanut butter and jelly with goldfish crackers.  But you can only do so much.  The food dilemma.

I have, on past trips, brought along a griddle and made breakfast for the family in the hotel.  But doing something like that calls for a lot of extras to be packed.

Either way, D and I agree that this won’t be the last of our road trips…

Sounds like you guys are having a whole lot of fun. And the last picture is adorable. It looks like on that could be entered into a photo contest or something like on the Iheartfaces blog. Too cute.

Some of my very favorite family memories are roadtrips. We were always on a spontaneous road trip to visit family, museums, national and state parks. This post just makes me smile.

Love the last pic! Makes all the other un-fun things on the trip worth it! Road trips are great, with four little munchkins, we don't fly, we make great use of our minivan!
