  • The beach…it’s sandy

But we love the beach!  D wanted a last “hoorah” before his fall semester started and I did some fancy footwork to make sure it happened.  A weekend at the beach, with the kids, the grandparents and my sister!  It came together beautifully.  First of all, Cylas is in L.O.V.E with the beach and all things beachy.  He turned into a crazed four year old and it was almost like no one else was there but him.  He ran, he rolled, he jumped and made sand angels.  His energy was nearly a small force to be reckoned with.
I think I’ve found our calling.  There’s nothing else left in life for us to do than to be a beach bum family.  Cylas would be happy with that.  Happy as a clam-clam.  If there is even a HINT of sunshine it’s a “whetz go to dah beech” day.  And I have to try and convince a very determined four year old that no matter how sunny or perfectly hot it is outside that won’t take away the three hour drive that lays between us and the sand and the surf.
My dad even joined in the fun…and completely exhausted himself with the effort.  Grandma Carla was the smart one of the bunch and toasted her toes and took in the rays at a safe distance from water.
On the contrary, it took Roma almost the whole time to work up her courage to get wet.  The waves were loud and crashy…too crashy for little Ms.  But finally, she gave in and got all icky, too!

This is what I love doing with my family.  I love making memories.
