  • Some mornings, we just dance

There are days when I wake up with guns blazing, rolling like a steamer and very motivated.  I can’t actually remember the last time that was, though.  But, it does happen, sometimes…
Yesterday was full of plenty to do.  Our church is putting on a small pageant for Christmas and I have been really wrapped up with that, sewing costumes, finding decorations, organizing the details and in general being bossy.  Whatever.  Don’t hold it against me.  I’m the first born of three girls and a boy.  You are not born the oldest without being bossy.  Nuff said.
So yesterday morning I was trying to get myself mentally ready to take on the day.  D was here for a while before school, so I took that time to go for a run.  I live for running in the mornings.  It does a lot for me, my energy level and clarity of mind.
But finally, it was just me and the kids.  And I started blasting the Christmas tunes.  My hair was out of its braids.  It’s long and curly and a little wild and I decided that it would be the perfect time to rock my AFro.  And that I did.  Just me and my babies, dancing in the morning while the weather outside was cold and white.  It felt good.  Me and my Afro were reconnected and my kids tore up the house before the day could whisper “hello”.
Now, this video does not show my Fro-ic hair…I just couldn’t bear to assault you all with that wildness.
