  • Making time for forts and popcorn

Wow, that totally sounded like I typed something else.  But let’s stay on track.

The other night it was a fort type of night.  Forts and popcorn!  See, there it goes again.  *ehm*  No, in all seriousness, we love building forts.
Cylas is pretty much the master when it comes to constructing these things and I have to let him release his creativity, even if it means it’s all over my house, otherwise there will be trouble.  It’s a miracle our couch doesn’t have holes or any serious damage due to all the jumping and rolling that takes place on it.  I have truly given up on dreams of having a perfectly clean house that lasts throughout the day.
The only time that happens is when we’re not here.

So, back to the other night…Cylas begged and begged for a fort that we could all get into and snuggle and play together.  And papa made him this pretty fabulous fort that successfully fit two adults and one child…only because Roma crashed on the couch before she could join in the fun.

When we make forts and snuggle with a little bit of popcorn on the side, it pretty much takes up the rest of our evening.

My mom makes popcorn like it’s going out of style and totally hooked my kids on it on her last visit out.  Nothing like homemade popcorn, popped in olive oil and topped with a little garlic salt.  Salty perfection.

Just doing things like this can make a pretty crummy day A-ok.
    I love popcorn and forts.
