It’s no secret that my children and I love the library.  My son asks to go, regularly.  That makes me happy.  Of course, the wonders of the library are endless, they reach as far as your imagination and go and then dare you to go farther.

As a little girl I would spend countless hours reading and reading, then hunting down books for my Nancy Drew collection in the book swap stores.  I managed to find almost the whole set over the years.  It is one of my prized possessions.  I hope Cylas will find a set of books or even a subject that he just can’t live without and starts his own collection.  As it stands, he is completely obsessed with the human body, space and water.  Oh, and he sneaks over to the junior section and stares at all the covers for the R.L Stein books.
Yesterday, he found one of the computer programs about the human body and successfully placed all the body parts in their proper place.  Bones, kidneys, heart, stomach…he loved it.

Roma likes to tag along with big brother but eventually wanders back to her first love — the telephone.

She’s also quite content to kick back on the chairs and read her little board books.
For as energetic as my son is, he will set aside his explosive behavior and really focus on what interests him.
We left the library with such a cool stash of books.
One of our all time favorites, The Magic School Bus.  That poor Arnold always gets the shaft.
And leave it to Dr. Suess to turn our body parts into the most interesting rhymes.
Yes, the library is our special place for our imagination to soar, and our knowledge to grow in all the things we love.

Love Nancy Drew! I'm currently reading Sherlock Homes, a more grown up version ;) of the same kind of stories. Love them.

oh MY Misha…I totally remember going to the library with you when we were all of 8, and I always wanted you to read your Nancy Drew books to me :) Aww, those were the days
