  • Chronicles: The Sunday Morning Sweep

I don’t know about anyone else, but in this house, Sunday is THEworst day of the week for all things clean.  Monday morning, my house is war zone status.  We are at the church by 9am and leave around 11:30 or 12.  Lunch. Naps happen. Then out again by 5:15.  My poor kitchen sees the worst of it between all the meals and hurried snacks.

I would prefer to sit on the porch and eat out of paper bags so dishes wouldn’t be a problem.  This morning I could have fainted at the sight of the pans and plates cluttering my counter.  Spent an hour in there just getting it decent.  I am NOT posting photos of that atrocity.

Then the aftermath of clothing tossed here and there, ending up in the dirty clothes when it should be clean…my laundry is belching socks by Sunday’s end.  No bueno.

Lord knows my child could curl up in the closet with all those clothes and I could wash the whole load with my kid right in the mix and not even know.  Sundays are just not a good day for me and my sanity.

It’s just messy!  But that is what Mondays are for.  Mondays are bittersweet for me.  They represent a new beginning for my kitchen and mass of creeping laundry, but also a good three hours of cleaning for me.  I’m sort of in love with the outcome though.
    What are your Sundays like??

Glad to know my counter wasn't the only one full of dishes this morning.. I scurried out the door, running late for work, assuring my mother-in-law I would get them this evening!

All I can say is "Ditto!" =oD
