  • Impromptu

Sometimes, being impromptu can bring the most delight.  Last night we had a campfire.  We were all outside, I had just finished my workout and was weeding, D was finishing up on Cy’s playgroup (pics of the latest addition to come!), when Cylas blurted out, “let’s have a campfire!”  And we did.

Our neighbor, who had stopped by earlier with her children, offered to get hotdogs for all the kids to roast.  D went, whittled out several sticks and we were in business.   Hotdogs for everyone.  They didn’t even care that it was slapped into a regular piece of bread.

Seven little kidlets surrounding the perfect campfire, roasting those weenies.  Cylas was so anxious.  Every few seconds he would ask if his hotdogs were done…he’ll learn soon enough.

Roma, a little impatient and totally missing the whole point of a campfire, snatched a raw hotdog and ran.
    *munch, munch*
This campfire thing is fairly new to me but is totally a favorite pastime for the people around here.  I want to make it our pastime, too.

Our campfire was short and sweet, totally impromptu, but oodles of memories and happy giggles to go around.
