  • MIY: Homemade Fabric Softener

Life’s best recipes include only three ingredients.  It’s becoming more and more evident to me.
Who can argue with this recipe: Family, Friends & Food.  If you have that, you can live forever and happily, I think.  hah.

So, hold your breath, because here comes another 5 minute, money saving recipe to use at home.  Growing up, we never had enough money to splurge on fabric softener, my mom always used dryer sheets and those made our clothing smell so nice.  We didn’t know we were missing out on infinitely soft clothing provided by Snuggle, or, whoever…

But now, I don’t have to worry about the extra money spent, because, literally, this was .88.

Peroxide.  Water.  And the conditioner of your choice.  Suave :)

    The original recipe calls for:
    6 c. water
    3 c. peroxide
    2 c. conditioner
    Shake well.  And serve.

I chose to cut the recipe in half because I was almost out of peroxide, so, what you see in the photo is only half of what this recipe really makes.

    Enjoy!

*This NOT my recipe, it was passed along to me by one of my wonderful readers*

I’ve been using this recipe for the past few months and it works great!

    oh my goodness! so easy!

I have been using white vinegar, straight.

    Thanks for this recipe.

Straight vinegar works just fine too, which is what I was using for a while too, but this one gives you that nice scent :)

Has anyone used this? I would like to know your thoughts regarding this mixture?

I’ve used it. I don’t have any extensive experience with other softeners, therefore limiting my ability to compare it, but it does a good little job and makes my laundry smell great!
