cylas life Of Food and Love: broadway shows with the family spiderman on broadway

In my napsack stash
Turn Off The Dark. Turn up the volume and action packed Broadway show. Let me tell you, every kid’s dream happened last night. Seeing Spiderman scale the Chrysler building, soar over your head, toss his webs into the crowd, fight with the Green Goblin in mid-air right above you and kiss M.J upside down. Yeah, Cylas said he “super loved it”. Grant it, it’s a two hour long production and there are a couple of lulls in the momentum, but all in all we had such a fabulous time. My dad and David fooled Cylas into thinking that we were just going into the theatre to check things out and then we were going to leave. When he finally realized that he was going to get to SEE Spiderman he was so excited.
The line was huge. We saw a matinee and the house was packed.
Ok, so, the truth is this: Cylas had been up since around 7am and he fell asleep during part of the second half. He took a 20 minute nap. Poor baby. But we got him up in time to see the Green Goblin and Spiderman fighting overhead and watch the Goblin fall backward off the Chrysler building and “SPLAT”.
I think my two favorite moments in the whole show were: when Cylas waved at Spiderman who was circling over head and when Spiderman dropped down on his web from the top of the stage and kissed M.J in that classic pose. I wish, wish, wish I could have taken photos.
My dad, mom and Grandpa made yesterday happen. Without them, Spiderman on Broadway was just a pipe dream.
If you’re planning a family trip to NYC and a show is on the list, make sure you stand in line on the corner of 47th and Broadway at the TKTS counter. It’s under the red stairs. It opens at 10am, but be sure to get there earlier, because the line grows like a bacteria. Tickets up to half off and well worth it. Don’t buy your tickets from the men on the street, go stand in line!
We have a long history with Broadway shows in our family, and I was so glad Spiderman made it on the list.
Next up, Jersey Boys.
