  • MIY: Homemade Toilet Bowl Cleaner

I’m enjoying finding all these recipes.  My house is becoming greener and I’m saving a small chunk of change by utilizing staples in my household to make OTHER staples  :)

So, I’ve found that the bleach I make doesn’t actually *bleach*, it disinfects and takes some of the discoloration out of what ever I’m cleaning, but it doesn’t do what I’m used to.  Bummer.

So, truth be told, I still have regular bleach laying around that I use for my sinks, toilets and tubs.  I use the alternative bleach for my clothing and won’t ever use anything else, because I love it.

Hoping that this toilet bowl cleaner will eliminate my need for bleach-bleach, you know?

This was passed on to me by a good friend who got it from somewhere out there on the net…

    Homemade Toilet Cleaner

    3/4 c. baking soda

    3/4 c. white vinegar

    10 drops tree tree oil

Combine baking soda and oils in a mixing bowl.  Only when you’re ready to use the solution do you add the vinegar.  Pour the mixture into the toilet and scrub.  THAT’S IT!

Thank you for the recipe, I love simple things and we are pro-green in my household. I have to try to mix my own.
