I actually have no idea what song they played, but Roma sure enjoyed it.  She danced on those plastic chairs like a fairy princess.

Two weeks ago my husband graduated with his B.S in Accounting, Cum Laude, and I literally wept for joy.  Not even kidding.  It was a bit surreal.  I mean, after waiting 4 years for something to happen and it’s all over in two hours, seems a little quick and underdone.  Actually, it felt like forever and I was overcooked.  It was hot out!

See David in there? In the way back?

For two or three days after I was in a bit of a daze, so was D.  We couldn’t believe he was finished.  My university widow days were over in a matter of a couple hours.  Cheers!

Even though it was his graduation it was almost cathartic for me.  That part of my life was over.  Over.  I don’t have to relive another day of it ever again.  My new life started the moment they handed him his diploma.  What adventures are in store, I have no clue, but I’m pretty sure I can handle just about anything at this point.

And truth be told, this would never would have been possible if it weren’t for his parents.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.  When the ceremony was over and D’s dad gave him a hug I overheard him say, “This is why we moved to America, so you could have a better life.”  I almost cried right there.  Actually, I did choke up a little.  They gave their boy a new life and me the most amazing man.

He graduated.  He got hired on at a local accounting firm and now, the next step is for him to sit for his CPA next year.  I am SO proud of him.
    Love you, dear…

I wanted to cry reading this post! This is awesome and you don’t think you’re a little too happy? Like even a little bit? hahahaha I kid. Well, now one chapter has closed and a new chapter has started. Yes! I am truly happy for D and your happiness makes me grin. CONGRATULATIONS, D!

*sigh* Oh my gosh. I think I’m still in a bit of shock. Yes, happy is truly an understatement. It’s extremely emotional! Crazy. Who would have thought that graduating could be such an emotional roller coaster? He worked his tail off these past 4 years and deserved every bit of that GPA. I love that man!!

    Congratulations to both of you!

I got choked up reading this post, Mish! What a beautiful story you and D have made… I know these past years were trying for the both of you but I also know it’s bittersweet. I’m beyond happy for you and your family. CONGRATS TO D!!! I bet this graduation felt even better than your UCD one. haha. 4 hard years of work- such a big accomplishment for both of you. Love you!

Congratulations to you and David! We probably had very similar feelings at our husband’s grads. I went and sat in the freezing rain with a 3 week old baby. Umbrella’s propped up over us, baby in a Moby wrap, me all relieved that it was finally over! Now, Josh gets wistful for student life and talks about his Master’s and I tell him not to even speak of it for a few more years!

We wish you guys all the best!

Ok you got me on this one! I have read it about 5 times because it makes me tear up every time. This is a milestone! I remember the feeling when my husband graduated last summer.. I cried. And in January, Lord willing it. will. be. over and I will graduate too! Phew- college is a BIG deal! Congrats to your hubby and to all of you :) One season has passed
