This Weekend: Summer Plans
Summer when you’re single and without children means something totally different than summer when you’re married WITH children
My summers used to be filled with hours and hours of swimming with my little sisters, playing cowboys and Indians, riding my pony and youth camps. I got married had two summer of no children, went to NYC with a couple of girlfriends, visited a good friend of mine in SoCal and then, had a baby.
Now our summers are full of day trips, weekend getaways to D.C, museums, parks, picnics by the pool, we smell like sun block and sweat and we crash with exhaustion when the sun goes down.
What are your summer plans?
Well, this my 2nd summer as a married gal. Last summer was spent in a wedding planning frenzy, then moving/setting up our apartment, then a honeymoon in Jamaica and one final Carmel trip before the summer ended.
THIS summer– we are having my 3 neices over for a week. This will include duck feeding and kite flying, jelly belly factory, SF trip and a boat trip for tubing. They’ll love every minute of it! We are also celebrating our 1 year in St. Lucia (getting in those last trips before we have a little family). And I’ll be spending my spare time at the gym taking those morning classes I never get to!
It’s going to be pure bliss.
Mish- your summer sounds full of fun and excitement too! Your babies and the memories you make are priceless!

Well! This is my LAST summer a single lady and it will be a busy one. I’ll be taking engagement photos in the middle of June, packing up all my stuff in an effort to prepare myself for my new teaching job in San Jose, and taking care of tons o’wedding stuff. Yahoo!
