Of Food And Love: A Ballerina Tea Party
And so, the first few months of my little girl’s ballet lessons have come to a close. Her teacher goes away for the summer every year.
As a way of saying goodbye, the teacher arranged a sweet little tea party. (my first ever and Roma’s too)
Roma was so excited, walking up the steps and talking to herself…
She and Cy waited anxiously for the door to open.
And then, the festivities.
It was adorable. She made scones. (fresh blueberry and mini chocolate chips)
Sliced up fresh fruit
Pulled out the tea cups
And we feasted.
Now, we may have never been to a tea party but we are no strangers to tea. Papa usually makes ours from loose leaf. But, I think Roma Cylas enjoyed dipping the little bags in and out of the steaming water.
All the little mouths smacking happily on fresh strawberries, apples, oranges and scones.
In the end, all that was left were soggy tea bags, napkins, orange peels and scone crumbs. Absolutely delicious.
But what stole the show was Baby H and Baby R’s special moment. I caught them chatting with each other on the floor. Baby H is notorious for running around only clad in a diaper and Roma for digging up princess dresses and tiaras. After a few spats, some screaming and chasing, Baby H came up with the most brilliant idea…
“Let’s dance! I’ll be Batman and you be a princess.” He took her hand, they stood up and danced around the room. My heart melted.
Thank you Mrs. Jess for a wonderful afternoon and beautiful memories!
I have truly enjoyed your pictures of the tea party at Jess’s house. I think the first one of Roma is my favorite. Her energy and determination are a joy to watch. We truly had fun together last week. And, of course, the dancing photo is “Priceless”. I admire your creativity!

How perfectly adorable!!
