I know that this post should be about my trip to Europe. It’s not. I am currently, completely frustrated with my computer because it no longer shows thumbnails of all the photos I’ve taken. I have the post written, it has been waiting for a month now, but no photos are in it and that’s what people want, right? I might just post it without *sigh* ok, anyway…
(a picture of me on my last day in Europe. We were in Brussels)
Marathon training starts for me again. My head is just now getting in the game. My summer goal was to be halfway ready to run a marathon, and by that I mean, I could throw down a ten mile run no prob. Uh. Well, leaving out of the country for three weeks and really put a wrench in the works. My longest summer run has been a mere six miles. I struggle with feeling less than ready compared to other runners because of my low mileage, but I haven’t let it stop me. I keep running even if it’s not as far as I would like. I keep telling myself that it’s *ok* because I’m building up my base miles.
Even though my runs are short, I kill myself with cross training and have seen the results appear during my runs. I have started incorporating those lovely things called, burpees. Omg. Those are killers! So, when I do leave the gym with only five miles under my belt, I don’t feel too guilty because I’ve thoroughly worked the rest of my body and I’m sore the next day.
Marathon training. It’s a completely mind and body work over. Truly. I’m experimenting with eating differently, too. We already eat semi-crunchy, so it’s not like I’m going down a completely foreign food path, but I’ll be eating less of certain things like: bread. I’m a a HUGE bread fan, so, it’s going to be hard, but I’m curious to see how my body reacts to less grain in my life.
Feels odd to blog again. I miss it…
