This Weekend: Watch the time

Watch the time go by in bird days.

Just hatched and hungry.

Kind of naked and alone.

One week later, they have the beginning of bird clothes now…still chirping for food and every sound they hear is greeted with little songs of hunger.

A week and a half later, they are nearly clothed and go into protection mode.  They hear a sound and they hush.  They’re old enough to hop out of the nest, now, too.

Two weeks have passed and they are a bundle of grey feather, their eyes are furtive and they try to hop away, desperately trying to save themselves from the giant little girl who keeps peeking in on them with her mama.

It’s fun to watch the time pass, but I’m sure glad my kids don’t grow that fast.  In three weeks the babies are ready to start their lives alone.  No.thank you.  Let me keep my fuzzy headed baby girl and boy for a little while longer, please.

Watch the time and redeem it for all it’s worth.
