  • Of Food And Love: Gyampa and Great-Gyampa

Winner of the Pieces Of Three shirts is::  Melissa Munn!  Please contact me with your address so I can send them to you, thanks :)

My dad and grandfather came for another one of their weekend visits.  Cylas could hardly contain himself.  My dad and Cy are connected on a very, very deep level.  A lot of my son’s antics are mirror images of my dad when he was that age.

We did a lot of fun things while the Gyampas were here.  Cylas requested “parent pick-up”, so I obliged.  This photo captured the pure love and delight my son has for my dad.  It is so very precious.

My youngest sister was here visiting as well.  My weekend was packed.  We took time out on Saturday to go for a little hike.  I ran from our house to the hiking trail, 4 miles, then took the 2 mile hike with them.  It was very refreshing.

Cylas was determined to bring a suitcase and a bag along for the trip.  Why?  Because it was an adventure.  My son is Max…I promise.  He is the epitome of Where The Wild Things Are.

We saw cool mosses and mushrooms.

    Giant leaves.

    Weird stacks of tree parts.

    And incredible scenery.

Gyampa helped Roma up the steepest part of the hike, but she managed it on her own two feet, otherwise!  Such a strong girl.

We slipped, ran, tripped and finally, 2 miles later, ended our hike.

D gathered some flowers for me along the way and arranged a bouquet.  He’s so sweet.

These may be simple memories and moments in my life, but I don’t ever want to forget them.  Sometimes, we take these times for granted and later, when we can not recover them, regret not stopping to redeem every moment we can with our loved ones.
