I am a sucker for all things handmade.  When I was a little girl, my mom made a lot of my clothing, she made my baby blanket, she also made puppets.  I have such fond memories looking at those things made with love.

Let me introduce you all to a very sweet mommy, Kailee. 

We met about three years ago through an online baby site.  Our babies were born in the same time frame, roughly late October-November.  We managed to stay connected through Facebook, which is when I discovered her wonderful talent for knitting.

“I make all kinds of things…paci clips, hats, wool soakers and longies to blankets, scarves and mittens.  I started knitting in Feb/March of 2009.”

She has four beautiful babies, and loves going to playgroups, which, let me tell you is quite essential depending on where you live.  Interaction with other moms is close to a cure-all for the ever encroaching insanity of being a mother.

She has graciously donated a spunky, knit gnome cap.

She can make them for babies as young as 6 months.  She sent me a couple to try out on my kids and they fit beautifully, even on my 5 year old!  What a sweet gift for the coming winter.  She doesn’t have an etsy shop, or an FB page, but I’m trying to convince her she must get one!  These are too adorable.  My son went on an “adventure” with his cap.  He packed a suitcase and we tromped around in the fields across from our house.

I can’t resist such sweetness.  I’m always on the hunt for unique items for my children and this fits the bill.  It ties neatly under the chin and doesn’t shift off the head, perfect for the biting cold winds we experience out here in PA.
